Ethics in Dental Education
I attended a Student Professionalism & Ethics Association in Dentistry (SPEA) lecture given by Dr. Eugene Dunne in seminar room 1 during lunch. I gained insight into the five pillars of dental ethics, which include autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, and veracity. Additionally, we explored contemporary challenges in patient access to dental care such as cost, waitlists, and insurance availability and fees. Understanding these ethical principles is crucial for my development as a dentist, ensuring that I provide ethical and equitable care to all patients.
