D2 Studying Scientifically
This workshop took place on September 27th in lecture room B. It focused on proven metacognitive learning strategies to improve academic performance. Additionally, I was selected by Academic Affairs to serve on a panel, where I answered questions from my peers about how I’ve been successful in my courses. I gained a deeper understanding of how to enhance my study habits by applying evidence-based learning strategies. Spaced repetition helps reinforce material over time, retrieval practice strengthens memory by actively recalling information, and interleaving study involves mixing different topics to improve understanding. These learning strategies are directly applicable to my dental school coursework, where mastering complex material is essential. They not only help me retain information more effectively but also prepare me for the rigorous demands of my future dental career.
