Ethics in Dental Education

- Dr. Dunne discussed the definition of ethics (and related terms), pillars of ethics in healthcare, and opened a discussion about ethics in the dental field. Through the discussion with other attendees — which included students and professors — we explored topics including the ethics of recommending procedures to patients, motivations behind and consequences of insurance policies, and the use of AI in dental education.
- This is relevant to both my educational and professional career as it enriches my understanding of ethical principles and practices in situations I will encounter in dental school and beyond.
