From Mentee to Mentor
Mentoring the D1 Class of 2028 has been a valuable learning experience for both me and the students I support. For the D1s, it’s a chance to receive guidance on managing coursework, navigating preclinical labs, and adjusting to the pace of dental school. I’ve shared tips that helped me through my first year—like how to study smarter, stay organized, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
At the same time, I’ve grown through this mentorship. I’ve learned how to lead with empathy, communicate more clearly, and become a better listener. Guiding others through their challenges reminded me of how far I’ve come, and it deepened my appreciation for the collaborative spirit within our profession.
This experience has not only strengthened my leadership skills but also reinforced my passion for supporting others—a quality that will be essential in my future as a dentist.
