- The lecture from Dr. Zientz took place on Jan 22nd, 2025 in Lecture Room A at the Dental School.
- Dr. Zientz heavily discussed the numbers during this lecture. He showed us his own financial statements as well as mock statements to help get his points across about overhead, fixed costs, and employee salaries. He also gave some advice about things to look for in a potential practice, like the number of chairs, the current state of the dental office and the potential need for renovations or modernizations as older dentists sell their practices, and the number of chairs in the office as that directly affects your income.
- I do want to own my own practice someday. I\’m not entirely sure that I want to own multiple just yet so I went just in case and also to see what I need to look for when potentially buying a practice. Dr. Zientz taught me several things about that that I didn\’t even think of, like his examples of how increasing or decreasing overhead by even a few percent can alter the entire financial outlook of the office.
