Dental Practice Management Club Member
I have been a member of the Dental Practice Management Club since the fall of 2023. Being part this organization is an opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. It allows members to explore the non-clinical aspects of dentistry, such as business management, leadership, and the practical steps of building and maintaining a successful practice. One of the club’s highlights is the opportunity to attend “lunch and learns,” where incredible doctors share their journeys from dental students to practice owners or partners.
In the fall, I attended a session led by Dr. Jason Hanyon, an alumnus and the proprietor of Century Dental. Century Dental practices are located throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania, particularly near my hometown. Dr. Hanyon was an exceptional speaker, offering honest and insightful details about his journey since graduating from Temple in 2004. His presentation was not only informative but also inspiring. Through experiences like this, the club provides invaluable guidance and resources to help members navigate their future careers. For me, it’s a chance to gather the knowledge and connections necessary to pursue private practice ownership and develop the skills needed to manage it successfully should I eventually choose that path. Being a member of this club means preparing for the business realities of dentistry, learning from others’ experiences, and building a network of mentors and peers who can support your career goals.
