The novel approach to delivering a prosthesis was invented in Germany, and was recently approved by the FDA in 2013. It allows patients with minimal maxillary and mandibular bone remaining to receive a plate fixed to their bone that has posts attached. A prosthesis can then be attached to these plates, restoring a patient\u2019s dentition. It can be used for partial and full prostheses and is an innovative way to expand treatment options. Dr. Aziz was a mentor to Temple\u2019s Dr. Pooja Gangwani, and the invitation to this talk was extended through her.
