3D Cone Beam CT Anatomy, Pathology and Safety Guidelines

On February 28, 2025, I attended a continuing education course titled 3D Cone Beam CT Anatomy, Pathology and Safety Guidelines,” presented by Dr. Jie Yang. This 3-hour virtual lecture covered the fundamentals of interpreting CBCT scans, identifying common anatomical structures, and recognizing pathological findings. Dr. Yang also emphasized the importance of radiation safety protocols and proper CBCT usage in clinical settings. I learned how to distinguish between normal and abnormal radiographic features and how to apply this knowledge to diagnostic decision-making. The course enhanced my ability to interpret advanced imaging, which is essential for treatment planning in areas like implant placement, endodontics, and oral surgery. This content complemented my radiology coursework and deepened my understanding of 3D diagnostic imaging. It also supported my goal of becoming proficient in modern diagnostic tools to improve patient outcomes.
