Special Olympics Volunteer – Special Smiles
Attended Special Olympics at Penn State University from June 6-8th. I worked with Dr. Jason Bresler in volunteering with “Special Smiles.” I checked in patients as well as screened patients using a basic questionnaire. I also provided instructions on proper oral hygiene. Through this experience working with disabled people I learned how important it is to educate the community on proper oral hygiene, as well as provide services that many of the attendees never usually have the capability of receiving.
